Summary

On their way towards the elevator, Victor caught a glimpse of two men that he didn’t recognize, although they both seemed eerily familiar, standing by the printer. One of them—tan, shiny hair, animated—was explaining something to the other—glasses, slicked back hair, and sleeves rolled up to his elbows. Although his back was to Victor, the man in glasses turned a bit to reload the printer with paper, and Victor caught a hint of a striking profile.

No sooner had he noticed the green ginger beer bottle lying with false innocence in the center did he realize that he had messed up. He couldn’t leave now. He had sat down. Everyone saw him sit and it would be weird if he left now, wouldn’t it? He was trying to decide what would be worse: leaving and having everyone at the party make fun of him for being “prudish” or staying only to see the scrunched up look of disgust on someone’s face when the bottle bade them to kiss.

Winter never used to feel oppressive. It had always been comfortable, familiar. Yuuri had spent the vast majority of his life surrounded by ice, building a tolerance to the chill on his skin. Lately, the cold had been getting to him, bleeding through his layers to maliciously freeze him to the bone. As Yuuri walked home from work, he felt the cold bite him as it never had. Like they were enemies now.

"The elusive thief Eros, bound and powerless at last." Viktor drawls as his gaze slides over the man currently laying on his bed, both hands securely cuffed to the metallic bed frame.
Eros, for his part, gives a look of complete indifference to his current predicament, with an easy smirk and relaxed poise even as the handcuffs dig into his wrists. When he speaks, his tone is cool and even, "And the legendary detective Viktor Nikiforov, chaining his nemesis to a bed. What would the people say if they knew their beloved hero entertained the same sort of fantasies only a den of iniquity dared provide for?"
Viktor chuckles at that. Of course Eros would be this daring even in his current situation, it's what makes him so charming.

Yuuri looked away from the person he was speaking to, as if sensing being watched, his gaze moving over the room, and then found Victor's. Victor felt his cheeks heat a little in embarrassment from being caught watching. He wondered if he should turn away, try to conceal his open interest. It was probably the socially acceptable thing to do. However, Victor had two glasses of wine in his system, and well… Yuuri was very cute.
Victor winked.
