Nodding, he held up his glass as she poured some, muttering a short "Gracias" in thanks before taking a sip. Pedri watched the man as he did so—the way his head tipped back, his throat bobbing as he swallowed the juice—and noticed the golden cross attached to the chain on his neck, glistening in the light of the early morning sun. Ferran, finishing the whole glass in one gulp, smiled at his mother and exclaimed, “¡Increíble! This tastes amazing, Mrs Lopez” A small droplet of the juice remained at the corner of his lips for a moment before he licked it away; Pedri quickly turned his head the other way as if to pretend he wasn’t staring.
