Summary
After the day from hell -- fights with George, insults from Skull, no time with Lockwood, and, worst of all, skipping dinner in a fit of pique -- all Lucy Carlyle wants is for it to be tomorrow.
A relic that Lockwood & Co found in their basement has other ideas.
Or, Lucy gets stuck in a time loop and has to figure out exactly what opportunities she's been missing before she goes crazy -- or before she does something stupid like kiss her boss-slash-roommate.

Summary
That final drink had either been the worst or the best idea Lockwood had ever had.
Right now, his mind was far too fuzzy for him to determine which one. All he knew was that he felt light and boneless, slumped on the library rug next to Lucy, both of them on their backs. He wasn’t sure how long they’d been laying on the floor—or how they’d ended up there at all.
-----
The trio celebrates New Year's post-The Screaming Staircase. Lockwood struggles with coming to terms with his feelings about a certain Listener.

Summary
The misty remains of the thing haven’t even cleared from the air of the office when Smiley—still on his back, rolling over like a golden retriever—is looking again to Uptight and grinning wide in a way the Postman can only reliably describe as stupid. He’s been standing here observing the ruckus for a good minute, now, and the two of them are completely in their own world, unaware of anything but each other.
It takes him a tick, but Uptight smiles, too.
(or: the Postman, observing.)
