Summary

Strike didn’t leave the Army when he lost his leg, but took a desk job training investigators for SIB. Robin married Matthew, took the high-flying “people person” job and hated it.
Eventually Robin, discovering Matthew’s infidelity, leaves him, throws in the job she hates and pursues a long-held dream of becoming an investigator. She goes into the Army to train, and meets a Sergeant who’s still drifting along, teaching new recruits and hoping to open his own agency one day.
