Summary
High school is hard. Bad enough that Dash is now one of Danny Fenton's secret-keepers after he found out about Phantom, but there's also homework and football to worry about. The last thing Dash needs to be dealing with is developing Hanahaki for Danny. Given their history, there's no chance that Danny would ever like him back, so it seems as if Dash's only option to get rid of it is a painful surgery that will require months of recovery time and leave long-lasting effects that he'll never quite clear. He's trying to get into college on a football scholarship, though, so missing that much practice time and possibly screwing up his body badly enough that he can't play anymore isn't going to fly. He'll just have to live with coughing up flowers instead. It can't be that hard to hide, right? And hey, maybe in a few years, his feelings for Danny will fade, and it'll go away on its own.
Dash's plan even seems to work for a while. Throughout the rest of high school, he avoids Danny to keep his coughing fits under control. When he manages to get a scholarship to a distant college, he thinks his problems are finally over. But then he walks in on move-in day and sees that his new roommate is none other than Danny himself...
