Xie Lian slowly poked his small ferret head out of the leaf pile.
“Why are you giving me free eggs?” he asked suspiciously, one of the leaves now balanced on his head like a bamboo hat.
It is forbidden to ask what a person turns into at night.
By day, they remain human. When the sun sets: an animal form, unique to each person. Day and night are separate worlds and separate lives. It is the greatest, most unbreakable taboo to know a person’s nightform. And even more dangerous for Xie Lian, as he is cursed.
But one night in the forest, he meets a fox. A very powerful fox, who seems hell bent on protecting him at all costs. And the very next day, he meets a man calling himself San Lang.

Now, he’s back in the world he once called home, but everything has changed. His body is no longer human, his magic thrums beneath his skin, and his mind still lingers in a realm that feels more real than this one. To everyone else, it looks like he’s awakened a powerful Quirk overnight. To Izuku, it feels like he’s lost everything he fought for. But fate isn’t done with him yet, and with Euryale at his side, he must find a way to reconcile the past with the present—before his exile turns into something far more permanent.

“Izuku, please, just listen-”
“Fine.”
He threw the door wide and marched back into his apartment so he could collapse himself onto the couch. The truth was, he’d waited his whole life for an apology. But the fragile part of his heart was too bruised to be patient with the blonde. He’d listen, but he wouldn't be nice or polite about it.
