Summary
Apollo is beside himself with grief.
What nobody ever mentions about loss is that it’s not a group activity, no matter how many people offer platitudes of sympathy. Loss is deeply personal, horribly isolating, and above all, uniquely painful in a way that words can rarely describe.
(Or, five dinners Apollo has alone in the wake of Clay's death, and one where he has company.)

Summary
Phoenix shows absolutely no signs of leaving anytime soon. He takes off his shoes in the entryway, and Apollo tries not to scream - don’t get him wrong, he doesn’t wear shoes in the house either, but he doesn’t want Phoenix in his house. On the other hand, his boss seems both perfectly happy to stay and adamant that he's going to do so.
"You’re hiding something about Thalassa," Phoenix says. "And that concerns me because of Trucy - but also, because I’m worried about you. You won’t have much luck getting me to leave until you talk to me, kid.”
Apollo scoffs. “For a lawyer, you don’t seem to have much of a concept of trespassing.”
or: phoenix and apollo finally talk about everything that's gone unsaid.

Summary
“Everything in here belongs to Trucy,” Mr Wright starts, pulling out a sheet of paper that got bent in Apollo’s hurry to throw it all back inside, “guess it’s fitting I stored it all in an evidence box, huh?”
It feels like an interrogation— though Apollo isn’t sure which side is doing the questioning. “It’s—” he struggles to find the words, voice sticking in his throat, “decisive.”Or; Apollo is finally told something he needs to hear.
