Alfonse swallows. “We…” He hesitates, glances around. His brothers and sisters are staring at him expectantly; Rex nudges him with an elbow, encouraging him to keep going. “We’ve decided we want to be adults, father.”
Once he’s gotten the words out, he blushes, turning his head away as if he’s just confessed something deeply embarrassing.
