    Luffy had been content with his life. He was working at the library with one of his best friends, enjoying the quiet time it gave him to finish his homework and lose himself in the latest adventure book he'd gotten his hands on. He didn't care that he tended to fade into the background on campus, or that his classes didn't really help him towards his dream, as long as he had his people then he would be okay.

    Then Trafalgar Law strutted his way into Luffy's life, sticking his nose into everything, and the dark corners of Luffy's life were thrown into stark relief to expose all the little shadowy monsters that lived there. Luffy wasn't sure why or how, but he somehow knew that he would have to weather the storm that was the flirtiest man on campus in order to pull his life back together.

    (Or, an AU in which Luffy grows up as the quiet introvert who loves to read, and Law storms in as the insistent extrovert that just wants to make Luffy's life better, even though he's not really sure what's wrong.)
