    When Neil was fourteen, his father caught up to them in Seattle and he got separated from Mary. Unfortunately, neither of them escaped unscathed, but they did escape despite all the odds. They manage to reunite at one of their emergency rendezvous and take off running.

    That's where their luck ran out though because they only made it to California before Mary's injuries finally bested her. In the end, his mother couldn't go on but she made Neil promise to keep running because one of them had to make it. With no other choice, Neil burned her body, buried her ashes on the beach, and did what he had promised.

    Then, impossibly, things went from bad to worse — After a month of just sort of drifting in his grief, Neil found out he was pregnant.

    Naruto and Sasuke hated each other in high school. What happens when in college they are roomed together? How about when the power goes out and one is afraid?

    When I say slow burn I mean slow burn. Most relationships are not tagged because they will be a surprise, only main relationship is tagged. If there are any relationships you are really against and want to know if it will be part of the story you can ask and I will let you know.

    If you are triggered by referenced abuse and the emotional turmoil caused by it then do not read this. Seriously read the tags if you get triggered by things this has some heavy themes. I think I got all the tags, but let me know if you think I'm missing anything. Also, very brief mentions of past sexual assault and threats of sexual abuse. Not included in tags as they are very brief but they are there.

    Revised version of my story Lights Out posted on FanFiction.net. There is at least one additional chapter which may be triggering to some and will influence some additional changes to the story though it will remain very similar to the original version. Revised version of the sequel will be posted once this is complete.

    Naruto’s neck feels unbearably warm against Sasuke’s cheek as he’s pulled forcibly into an embrace, his irritated protests going largely ignored. It’s almost not really a hug so much as it is a cling, Naruto’s heels hitting Sasuke’s lower back, arm wrapping around Sasuke’s shoulders tightly. The shock of Naruto scrambling over onto his hospital bed isn’t enough to make the tears stop slipping down his cheeks, and he doesn’t have enough energy to truly resist – not that he truly wants to.
