Summary
“Looks like I bit you.” Will tilts his head to get a better look. All Mike can do is stare at him. His fluffy hair at the front, clumped pieces at the back where he’d slid his fingers in a mere few minutes before. His pretty green eyes that look hazel or even brown in this light, the dark circles he gets when he drinks framing them like intricate paintings. A satisfied, bloody smile.
Mike isn’t satisfied. He swallows thickly, choking down the words 'don’t you want more?'
Or: Will dresses as a vampire for a college halloween party, but Mike thinks his costume isn’t bloody enough. Will lets him fix it. Mike goes into a crisis.

“So,” Mike starts, drawing out the word, and Will turns to him. “Any ideas on how to spend the next fifteen minutes?”
It’s teasing, suggestive when he wiggles his eyebrows, and it’s so unexpected that Will lets out a surprised laugh, unabashed, and it’s so easy, how the tension falls away, and it’s only them again.
“You’re ridiculous,” Will shakes his head, smiling, but Mike looks proud of himself anyway.
He points out, “I don’t hear you complaining.”
Will scoffs, nudging at him with an elbow. “Whatever,” he smoothly replies. Mike grins.
Will, Mike, and the numerous attempts at their first kiss.

He promised he’d never forget.
Tomioka feels the weight of that promise in the last of the autumn leaves. It's evident in the weathered fences of old houses and it briefly feels like nothing’s changed as it manifests in the dull squeeze in his lungs and the goosebumps that prickle his arms. He wanted to be fourteen again. He wanted to be naive and innocent, sneaking out of the house and roaming through the neighborhood with the sunrise.
He never wanted to leave in the first place.
