Summary
The sun hadn’t yet risen when Stede started to stir. The gentle lull of the waves would have been enough to put him back to sleep had it not been for the lack of warmth that he suddenly became aware of. He reaches out with a heavy arm, still weighed down by fatigue. It snakes through the sheets, grasping for contact but the other half of the bed is empty. He forces his eyes open and blinks a few times then wipes the sleep out of them. He sits up, fingers dragging against the silk sheets where Edward should have been and he wonders if all of it were a dream.

Summary
“I can’t look away because you’re the most goddamn beautiful thing I’ve ever seen.” Doc churns out, finally losing himself. If Lightning was going to be relentless then he’d be yielding and pliable under Lightning’s hands. He’d give whatever Lightning asked of him, then take what he wants with self deprecating defiance because it’s what he deserves.

Summary
Lightning fishes in his jacket pocket, takes a deep breath, then pulls out a little box, holding it up, presenting it to Doc. “Will you marry me?”
Doc stares down at him, brain lagging for a moment. He wets his lips with his tongue before speaking. “You’re proposing to me with a shitty Wal-Mart ring?”
