Summary
The Avengers have always been a team of superheroes, but not necessarily only those who are enhanced or superhuman; human members of the team who use only their expertise and weapons abilities contribute so much to help save the world. Recently though, the ‘normal human’ Avengers are seriously lacking.
Natasha and Clint are (mostly) retired. Steve is obviously human, but enhanced by the serum. Thor and Bruce are clearly not ‘normal’ or possibly even ‘human.’ Tony is also human, but he never goes anywhere without a suit. Sam always has his wings. Etcetera, etcetera. That leaves me as the only human member of the team who is not enhanced in some way.
I do what Nat did, I was even her apprentice. This has its ups and downs however, as most of the team still sees me as a trainee, or even as a child.
I’m not, of course. I’m in my 20’s and a completely competent, full member of the Avengers.
I nearly object when Steve suggests hiring Bucky Barnes, newly freed from his Winter Soldier programming, to be my official bodyguard on missions. Nearly.

You don't remember much of anything from your past until you were accidentally found and rescued by Steve and Natasha. Now you're the newest Avenger (trainee).
You also live across the hall from Bucky in Avengers Tower. You hear his screams every night, know something of the feeling too.
The two of you haven't spoken much, but for some reason he hates your guts.
Can you figure out why, and figure out a way to ease his nightmares? Or will you find only more nightmares hidden below?Series
