“Kar-,” she starts, the brunette turning to her so fast it almost gives her whiplash. Taylor closes the distance between them, standing just a few inches away now. “This- this is stupid. Um, how long are you staying in LA?”
“We’re leaving early tomorrow,” Karlie replies, hugging herself.
“Oh, uh, I was going to suggest brunch tomorrow, but-,” she says and looks away for a second. “Do you- do you want to go to Cara’s party? She’s throwing it to celebrate the end of the US leg. Maybe we could go and, uh, catch up, I guess?”
“Catch up?” Karlie asks, a light chuckle hidden in her voice. She says it brightly, though, Taylor can almost hear hope in her tone.

Karlie shows up unannounced at the last night of The Eras Tour in LA, expecting anything except actually seeing the love of her life again.
