    “You took a job at my firm. Surely, you must have known you would see me,” he pointed out.

    You scrubbed your hands down your face. “Yeah, well, I figured the place was big enough that it could be avoided. At least for a while, anyway. I thought I would have more time to… compose myself,” you said sitting back with a huff. “And don't call me Shirley,” you added with a tired, weak smile.
