It was not surprising to Bruce that Superman had a civilian identity; it was ingenious and earnest and so very like him to choose a career where he could still help others.
What was surprising was the subsequent gut punch of attraction, so strong it nearly took his breath away.

“Can you toss him to me?” he asked. She didn’t even nod, just got a look of grim determination on her face. Bruce had moments to prepare before she kicked off with her left foot and swung her body, creating just enough momentum to launch the baby the last few inches. Bruce stretched with his whole body and felt his arms close, victorious, over the baby.
It had been too much for the girl. Her fingers lost grip, and she fell from the ledge, screaming. Bruce lunged for her hand, but it was too late.
“Robin!” he bellowed.
OR
Bruce loves his life - his parents, his boyfriend Clark, being a doctor. But something feels like it's missing. Something big enough to change the entire world.

“All right, I’d say that’s enough picking on Simon for one day,” Simon huffed after another beat of soaking in the laughter formulated at his expense, shaking his head as he pushed himself to his feet before leaning back down to offer out a hand to help him follow suit.
Grace took it without really thinking too terribly hard about the over-familiarity of the contact, allowing the man to pull him up onto limbs barely capable of supporting himself when he wasn’t in the throes of stomach-aching hysterics. Which is probably why he proceeded to tip forward and face-plant into a warm, broad chest without so much as a moment to collect his bearings and change course.
That got the laughter to catch in the back of his throat almost immediately as he felt a slight pressure clamp down on the jut of his waist to steady him some in the offhand chance he was going to go right back onto the floor instead.
