Before Hinata told his teammates that he was going to Brazil to pursue beach volleyball, he had practiced it in his head a hundred of times, how to announce it, when to drop the bomb, whether to smile or pretend to be cool about it.
He figured maybe someone would laugh or tell him he was out of his mind. But instead, everyone had cheered. Even Tsukishima, the ever salty-shima clapped him on the back and muttered something like, "Well, you'll be fine. It's you we are talking about. Just don't die, moron".
Yamaguchi had nodded with a proud captain-like grin while Yachi-san had teared up—real tears with the most beautiful and encouraging smile Hinata had ever seen.
And Kageyama...Kageyama had said nothing.

this fic is so beautiful, wonderfully, heart-breakingly amazing. it rips your heart in two, and then sews it back together again. oikawa + yama friendship is something i’ve never thought of, but after reading this, i promise it’ll seem at least slightly canon (although it’s not. wahh :[) there’s something so gut wrenching about tskym being separated. about one of them leaving. but them finding each other again—connecting as the once did, now different, makes all the more sense, too. tskym are destined to be, soulmates, if you will, at least in my heart. and this fic portrays that too. their dynamic is written so well in here that you can hear their voices, as if they were saying it themselves. the dealbreaker for me though, is the amount of detail in this. throughout the fic, there’s so, so much imagery that it feels like a movie of it’s own. it’s lovely. it’s everything. author deadpendragon, you never fail to amaze me. <3
