Lalo carefully wrapped the hot can with his vest, taking care not to burn Howard’s fingers again.
He dropped a tiny white pill into the water.“Coffee. For you.”
Howard stared at the “coffee”, dumbfounded that Lalo would try to drug him right in front of his eyes.
Lalo rolled his eyes. “Malditos gringos, nunca aprecien nada. It’s a caffeine pill mixed with water. Didn’t you say you were a ‘coffee freak’, Hamlin?”
