Summary
The Blacks want to marry off their youngest child. He begs Sirius for help and tells him a secret: He is a man and would rather die than be forced to be anyone's wife.
Panicked, Sirius arranges a marriage between his brother and his friend James Potter, knowing that Regulus can be the man he is in the English countryside on James' estate.James wants to ensure Regulus' happiness, even at the expense of putting his life on hold for a while.
Regulus wants to ensure James doesn't fall into societal ruin because of him.
Sirius wants to be loved.
Barty must decide whether he wants to keep causing destruction or choose redemption.
And Remus is just a very tired butler who watches James and Regulus dance around their actual feelings (literally).(Trans Reggie; set in the Victorian Age, 1890s. No horrible homophobia or transphobia depicted. Dysphoria is thematised.)

Summary
“I don’t know, I don’t know what this feeling is,” James mumbles, between kisses.
“Is it God or is it me?” Regulus replies, just as out of breath as James is, but apparently able to come up with a witty remark. Whilst it is a comment that should be easy to retort, James is struggling to find a comprehensive answer to his question — because, well, he doesn’t actually know, nor does he understand the unprecedented control that Regulus Black has over him.
“I don’t know. I don’t know.”
Or, James Potter is an assassin who is tasked to kill Mi6 detective Regulus Black, but it doesn’t exactly turn out that way…

“No? Right, sorry.” Regulus presses his lips together. A latex kink likely couldn’t explain the gash on his arm.
“I’m spider-man,” James says quietly. Regulus blinks again. Maybe he heard that wrongly.

Because Sirius had no idea - that James also convinced Sirius’ younger brother to come to this sleepy American town.
Hiding their magic, trying to blend in, all while a war wages across the world, will be the hardest challenge of their young lives.

“Never,” James says back, biting down a smile.
Regulus stares at him, eyes narrowed and gleaming, before he turns and leaves through James’ bedroom door.
Not even a day later, James has Regulus cornered against his kitchen counter.

The Black Apothecary lies just on the border of Hogsmeade. Wizards and witches near and far come to stock their potions from Regulus’ shop. And business is good.
At the start of a new term, professors stop in for their needs, his brother and Remus included. But it’s an almost forgotten familiar face made new that makes today special, when a grown James Potter comes into the shop requesting something rather unusual. A potion to calm his heart and head. A request James would very much like to keep between the two of them. A business proposal. A secret.
As Regulus tries different iterations of the potion James requested, the two start to grow close through session after session of failed potions with strange effects. Regulus starts to fear the potion James needs is an impossible task, and that he will fail his new friend in his promise to help him.
Or, Regulus and James try a bunch of weird potions and fall in love in the process.

“Yes,” James hissed, “and he’ll knock my teeth out if I kiss his little brother.”
“You can take a hit, Potter, I’ve seen you on the quidditch pitch,” Regulus waved him off, and James groaned, leaning away from him.
“Oh, yeah, great, so I’m the sacrifice,” he sighed.
“Precisely,” Regulus stepped right into his space, and James felt his chest go a little hot.
