Summary
“Hello again, Carol,” the woman says, and sits.
Carol suddenly has no idea what to do with her hands, and just says hello back. Like a robot, or someone who has only just learned what the word hello means in English.
“Sorry, did no one tell you I would be here? I must have looked so strange to you walking in like this.”
That must have been what Val was saying last night. The book cover model was coming to the reading. The book cover model has been tasked with doing the big speech Raban has in the middle of the book, and Val wanted to run it by Carol first. The book cover model is a woman and they’ve been putting her in Raban drag to shoot the covers rather than getting another man to do it. Goddamnit. She has to start paying attention during Val’s fucking phone calls.--
While on a book tour she wishes was over, recently divorced romantasy author Carol Sturka meets the also recently divorced Zosia Smith. The inevitable happens.

Summary
In general, Carol has decided she doesn’t like to think about the what-ifs, or possibilities. Possibilities are different now, more concrete. If Carol wanted, Zosia would move them to a remote Mediterranean island and wear see-through linen dresses and make her endless gin cocktails and let Carol fuck her on a sun lounger until neither of them could stand. They could do that for as long as it took for the hive to figure out how to get Carol to join them without using her stem cells. They could do that for as long as it took Carol to figure out how to stop them from wanting to do it at all.
The prospect of it is exhausting.Series

Summary
Albuquerque stretches wide around her, burnt and alien and empty. It feels quiet and full of ghosts. The Others were creepy and corporate, annoying; not to mention Zosia with her tour guide enthusiasm and that big-mouth smile that… well anyway, Carol’s alone now and fuck it, whatever. Who hasn’t fantasised about living alone with wolves before?

Summary
It’s impossible to forget that she’s a creation first and a person second. It’s even more impossible to forget it’s under Delphine’s rule that she’s become a person again this time, as delicate as her hold on it may be.
And for all her joking, whenever she looks in a mirror she thinks it might be a monster who stares back at her unblinkingly.

Summary
She’d never told anyone her real birthday, so when Rachel turns up one year on July 29, plunking a small red box onto her desk with a clever smile, Quinn doesn’t know what to say.

Summary
“Wait, where’s Area 51?” Quinn asks suddenly.
“Um, I don’t know, Quinn. Are you concerned Madison and Nikolai are going to get abducted by aliens?”
“Ugh, I wish they would.”
“Very X-Files,” Rachel says wryly, and lets her feet slump across the dash as she flicks her sunglasses down over her eyes.
To Quinn’s credit, though, chasing after aliens does sound a hell of a lot more fun than following a runaway suitor and the stupidest producer who ever lived halfway across America.

Beca swallows. She's still taunting, still sly and grinning with something dark and glittering, and still… super hot. She hasn’t changed a bit.
But Beca has – or, that is what she bolsters herself with as she sets her jaw and stomps over to the other side of the desk, throwing the papers down and gesturing to them only a little aggressively. “Do you need me to translate?” she asks, then immediately remembers – no, idiot, she speaks eight languages.

Summary
"Maybe we should just leave, Kalinda."
For a moment the idea hangs in the air, absurd, but then Kalinda starts to wonder if Lana might be right. Chicago has dragged her down for years. Chicago is a place of death and cracks that can’t seem to be patched up. She shrugs her free shoulder. “We could.”

Summary
When she met Cosima – that is, the day 324b21 became Cos-i-ma and not the subject – there was a split, and time became two halves: the time before Cosima, and with her.
Now, Delphine thinks, it has split again, two diced into three.
Before Cosima. With Cosima.
After Cosima.

He shuts the door and opens it again a few moments later, doing up the buttons on his coat. He looks at her, red-eyed in the cold. He sees the lamb; sees the knife, somehow, and takes pity on the blood dripping from her wounds. (Picks up immediately after 2x09.)

It hurts more and less than she wants it to, but mostly it serves as a thoroughly unneeded warning: Cosima has a clock inside her that is counting down to the exact same set of zeros.

Summary
Cosima kisses her, because here is the truth she needs; the stormy gospel spreading surely, steadily between them. It’s all in the shape of Delphine’s mouth, in the press of her tongue and the whine she can feel creeping up the back of her throat. Delphine can’t lie when she kisses Cosima.
