Summary
He’s barely finished with his drink when Bucky appears in front of him, a cup in hand. “Our famous cocoa,” He says, setting it onto the little table next to Steve, “On the house.”
Steve plucks the cup up off the table and cradles it close, inhaling the smell of chocolate and cinnamon. “Thank you,” Steve says, and then, “I can pay though, really.”
“Call it the cute stitch witch discount,” Bucky says with a wink before he’s turning away and disappearing behind the counter to take care of another customer.
In which Steve has magic, meets Bucky 70 years later, and as always, falls a little bit in love with him.

Summary
Bucky Barnes does not fall from the train in the Alps. Steve Rogers does not go missing in the crash-landing of the Valkyrie. Instead, they go back to Brooklyn, they get a new apartment, and they try to start over.
In 1946, Steve Rogers and Peggy Carter get married.
In 1952, Bucky Barnes marries, too.
They have children, they go to work, they struggle with domestic life after their years at war. And throughout it all, despite it all, Bucky Barnes is irrevocably in love with Steve Rogers.

For a couple minutes he slots through some things that are only just now making a whole lot of sense — like how odd his stomach felt every time their teacher in middle school, Mr. Barlow, so much as looked at him, and how he had the urge to go back and see Bringing Up Baby six or seven times just to re-watch the moment where Cary Grant was running around in a women’s dressing gown. It was a comedy, he’d told himself at the time — of course he’d liked it. Funny how things make sense in retrospect.
