4. DISCUSSION
There are several possibilities regarding the identities of these two individuals and how, if at all, they may have known one another. The least questionable aspect of who these men were is that of Skeleton 1. It is almost certain he was a member of the 1845 Franklin Expedition. The question that remains, then, is who? And why did this second individual come to die at his grave?

Summary
“Do try not to profane, Sergeant,” came a voice over his shoulder. Sol rolled his eyes, just a bit, before turning around to face the source of the words. Lieutenant John Irving stood stiffly just beyond him, hands clasped behind his back, eyes roving across the dark landscape ahead of them.
“Aye, sir. My apologies. Just dropped my spyglass.” A beat. Irving’s dark eyes looking at Sol questioningly, waiting for him to continue. “Overboard.”
“Ah. That’s a shame.”
“Indeed it is, sir. Thus the profanity.”
A series of conversations between Sgt. Solomon Tozer and Lt. John Irving, regarding telescopes, watercolors, and warmth.

It was just so pretty, sitting there on the dish rack. Nestled in amongst the cutlery like it was meant to be there. Needed to be polished, carefully stowed away like the rest of them. Jane’s mouth had watered the moment she realized what it was. Who it belonged to.

Summary
The year is 1899, and Solomon Tozer has become disillusioned with the new world. When he finds himself in trouble, he has to hightail it to Dawson City looking for an out. Luckily for him, friends direct him to a cabin, left by a recently dead hermit. The details don’t matter to Solomon: not when he gains land of his own. With no neighbors but the trees, he settles down for what he hopes will be a peaceful existence.
Peace, however, is hard to come by in Alaska, and winter is not finished with him.

Summary
“... will you be so unkind as to make me declare it, Mr Gibson—my sin, my hypocrisy?”
Billy stepped closer, although there was little space unoccupied. He placed his hand gently over the spot where the letter lay with the effect of branding it into John’s flesh. Billy Gibson had, of course, touched him before. Billy Gibson touched him every day with a detached, professional efficiency that rendered it entirely barren. Billy Gibson had never touched him before.
