    "Kacchan!" Izuku shrieks. "I don't want kids, I- we're not even married!"

    "I didn't know you were so traditional." Katsuki smirks. He bends on one knee and props up his hands, opening it like a clam shell. "Baby... I know it's only been twenty years, but will you-"

    "Get up!" Izuku whacks him upside the head. "Oh my god, you are so-"

    Katsuki cackles as he speeds up the mountain and Izuku chases after him.

    Katsuki is rudely awakened in the middle of the night by a frantic Izuku who suddenly remembers that on their third year of high school, during a safety program in a quiet little farm town to the south western part of the country, he and Katsuki buried a box under a barren tree. After twenty years, they finally come back and collect it.

    “The quirk is called Vampirism,” Aizawa explains. “It mimics several common vampire tropes from pre-quirk media, such as sensitivity to sunlight, enhanced night vision and, of course, the need to consume human blood to survive.”

     

    A villain attack leaves Katsuki under the effects of a vampire-like quirk that will slowly drive him mad if he is unable to consume enough blood to satiate his hunger. While that might seem like a dire situation to some, Class 1-A are more than up to the challenge to take care of their classmate, whether he wants them to or not. What's a little blood drinking between friends, right?

    Only, things don't seem so straightforward when it comes to Izuku. For some reason, when Katsuki bites him, his reaction is a bit more...intense compared to everyone else. And Katsuki finds that Izuku isn't the only one who enjoys it when it's his turn to be bitten...

    “That’s heavy, Deku,” Katsuki finally drawls out, and it resounds a little bit like a teasing remark, especially with how rarely the blond uses his nickname these days. “Letting out my feelings for you as much as I want won’t make your days normal like before. Do you get that?”

    “I don’t care,” Izuku says, straightening himself a bit more. “I don’t mind. Let it all out.”

    “You hearing yourself?” A slim, blond eyebrow is slowly being lifted. “You don’t even like me, dumbass.”

    Or, Bakugo Katsuki confesses his love for Midoriya Izuku the same way he does everything: bluntly. It starts the strangest Game of Gay Chicken in existence. Class 3-A is exasperated.

    “Kacchan.” Deku doesn’t raise his voice, but it’s enough to stop him in his tracks anyway. “I—I’m going to miss you.” His words waver, and Katsuki doesn’t have to turn around to know exactly how those tears look slipping down Deku’s cheeks.

    “Of course, you are,” Katsuki grunts. “Who’s gonna push you to be better, huh? You better not go soft over there.”

    That draws a weak, watery laugh. “Don’t worry, I won’t. I still have to beat you when I come back.”

    The familiar challenge should make Katsuki’s competitive spirit roar to life in his chest. It feels dimmed now, flickering under the ice that still hasn’t let go of his insides. Still, he manages to reply, “I’d like to see you try.”

    Katsuki doesn't know what he expects after graduation, but he knows it isn't for Deku to immediately set off for America. What he expects even less is what grows between them with time and distance.
