Summary
Sandstorm lives her life to the fullest, now with a talented apprentice of her own, Sorrelpaw. But the unexpected happens - Sorrelpaw gets badly hurt by a monster, and is deemed to the medicine den for several long moons, and Sandstorm could not feel more devastated. Sandstorm is devoted to caring for her apprentice as much as possible until she recovers, but there is also another cat helping Sorrelpaw - Cinderpelt. Eventually, Sandstorm finds herself coming to the medicine den more often, and starts to grow a formidable relationship with Cinderpelt - once her rival, her enemy, and now her love.

Sorrelpaw gets hurt and Sandstorm visits the medicine den very often, growing a sweet relationship with Cinderpelt.

Ravenpaw gets a brief visit from his childhood friend, Fireheart - now Firestar, after claiming his nine lives at Highstones and taking the leader role. He learns more about Tigerstar's treachery and Bluestar's honourable death, and takes a long time to process after Cinderpelt and Firestar padded back to ThunderClan. Barley offers Ravenpaw to a run, a short patrol around their territory to help Ravenpaw clear his mind.
