There's not much Vanya can say about soulmates, despite the fact that she researched them thoroughly. The only thing that all scientists agree on is that it doesn't really matter if you've known that person for a day or a lifetime, your marks will react only in specific circumstances. Most people think it's a "right timing" kind of thing. She's not sure that's the case, not with how it happened for her. To be honest, she doesn't think there could've been worse timing.
Five, on the other hand, never cared about it. It's too illogical for his taste. And the interest it might have held was crushed by the apocalypse a long time ago. He has no reason to look for a soulmate nor does he want one. Especially not after returning in 2019 in the body of a 13 years old. But Fate has always liked to mess with him so, really, why should it have gone any other way?

Connor Murphy is furious. He's pacing and pondering what to do, that stupid letter the only thing on his mind. He's furious until the shadows in Ellison Park become sharp and dangerous and he's off, running to escape from something he doesn't understand.
He doesn't make it out of the park, before he feels himself fall deep, as if he were falling through the Earth itself.Evan Hansen is mortified. His mind is stuck on that stupid letter and the news that Connor Murphy is suddenly missing doesn't help. Nor does the fact that the letter he wrote was taken as some sort of goodbye note from his parents. The lie doesn't come easy but telling the truth would just make everything worse, wouldn't it?
Meanwhile, the lights in his house keep flickering in short, angry bursts. -

On the 1st of September 1983 Varian Vatter boards the train for Hogwarts for the first time, full of excitement and ready to learn as much as possible about Potions as it's the closest subject to Alchemy the school has to offer.
Meanwhile Severus Snape has just begun to settle in his life as a professor. He really doesn't need an aspiring Alchemist to bring havoc to his boring, repetitive life.
It ends up being the best thing that's ever happened to him.-----------
Severus doesn't think too much of the boy, at first: Varian Vatter is just another first year, albeit a peculiar one.
He only starts noticing him during his first lesson, the week after. Even then, he raises an eyebrow and moves on.This one won't cause any problems, he thinks, already feeling better.
It takes him two weeks to realize just how wrong he is. Just when he was beginning to look forward to teaching someone capable, Merlin throws this at him.
