They’d taken the IV out of his arm but the plastic around his wrist betrayed him as another patient, another life waiting with all the rest on this unit to be snuffed out. He’d only gone in for the pain in his shoulder and he was going to walk out with a death certificate. Cancer of the bone, eating away at him for almost a year. Too late to stop, too late to treat.
