Lightners throw out broken things, it was only a matter of time before his big hunk of dented metal, chipped plastic, and frayed wiring was gunna follow suit; replaced for his age, for his technical short comings, for his appearance - so they can have something better.
You moved to this town a few weeks back, hired by the Mayor as a general electrician, running from the pain of your past. Your tinkering tendency has you saving a large CRT, left broken in the trash, and reminding you too much of yourself.
