A noise of protest stops him in his tracks, hand still hovering over Taerae’s face. His peaceful expression is now contorted in annoyance, lips sticking out in a pout that makes Matthew’s fingertips tremble from the strain to not reach out.
He keeps absolutely still and holds his breath, mentally reviewing his actions to see what he could have done to cause such a reaction. Taerae lowers the blanket a fraction, just enough to let his hands pass through and reach for Matthew in a grabby motion.
“Hug me,” Taerae croaks out, one of his hands finally finding his target in the edge of Matthew’s sleep shorts, the soft grip lightly pulling him towards the center of the bed.
