Summary
The door opens, and his therapist walks out. Isagi Yoichi. Wide, metallic blue eyes that look too open to possibly be seeing inside anyone else, soft black hair, a kind smile that doesn’t reach his eyes.
Michael should’ve known. He’s heard of him—the therapist who specializes in soccer players, the one clubs send their problem cases to. Isagi’s the guy who supposedly gets into your head and makes you spill all your deep, dark traumas like a confessional priest with a psychology degree.
Michael has one goal: win. He’s going to sit through these sessions, give Isagi nothing, and prove to the court that he is completely fine, thank you very much, that guy he beat up on field in front of millions just had it coming.
“Michael Kaiser?” Isagi says, like they’re meeting at a dinner party instead of a mandatory therapy session for assaulting a guy on the field. Like he doesn’t know who Michael is.

Summary
He’s barely finished scraping the charred eggs from the pan when there’s a knock at his door. Maybe he’d finally be slashed, out here in the middle of nowhere.
He limps toward it, the old injury throbbing faintly, a reminder of the match that ended everything. The memory flashes; the fake plastic of turf, the blinding stadium lights, Isagi’s face looking down at him, worried and horrified.
When he opens the door, Isagi stands there, drenched from the rain, his dark hair plastered to his forehead. He looks as if he’s just emerged from the ocean, entirely soaked to the bone, and he looks exactly the same as he did when he was sixteen- his eyes still carry that unsettlingly clear blue, like water so deep you might drown in it if you looked too long. “Hey,” Isagi says, his voice soft, cautious.

Summary
King Isagi Yoichi is a fair, benevolent, and just ruler who spends far too much time living in his tyrant father's shadow. When one revenger makes their way into his service, Yoichi begins to fear for his life.
Despite their initially rough relationship, the king grows to wonder if it wasn't revenge that had brought them together, but rather, the hand of fate that had guided their paths to cross.

If we are separated I will
try to wait for you
on your side of things
your side of the wall and the water
and of the light moving at its own speed
even on leaves that we have seen
I will wait on one side
while a side is there
