Only Ogata knows what went on in that room, the only conversation he and his father had ever had, gently lit by the soft orange glow from the hibachi.

Ogata hadn't thought the first time a superior officer would take advantage of him it'd be his own brother, but at least there's less to complain about this way.

“Doesn’t it bother you? You were asleep, and I—”
“It doesn’t bother me,” Hyakunosuke interrupts him. “and if you think about it, it was I who did stuff to you, so don’t feel so guilty.”
    “But—”
“Besides, I think it’s hot,” Hyakunosuke shrugs and stretches his arms above his head, and Yuusaku is distracted by the way his t-shirt rides up. Hyakunosuke notices it, of course he does, and grins teasingly. “Wake me up with a blowjob one of these days, I’d like that.”
    “Anisama!”

    Summary

Once upon a time, European naturalists received from skin traders a bird specimen with the most exquisite plumage, but without wings nor legs. They thought it was born in the heavens and took flight through miracles, that it lived off dews and will never touch the ground until the day it died. They named it the “bird-of-paradise.”

Turned out it was because local hunters thought the Europeans were only interested in the fancy feathers and hacked off the wings and legs when they taxidermied the dead bird.
