Summary
Salt water nipped at her toes, the currant almost as gentle as the breath behind her wet ears. So cold, Rollo almost forgot the warmth wrapped over body. Malleus only tightened her grip. She never knew how she could make Malleus so weak. Malleus didn’t know either. Worst of all it was mutual.
Rollo’s resolve slowly dissolved underneath the summer’s heat and Malleus’ embrace. And underneath that resolve laid grief. A grief almost as wide as the sea before them.
Rollo closes her eyes.
A seagull cries. Her heart joined in that shrill crescendo.

Summary
During the war, Father was a glutton. Gulping and guzzling down so much blood that it merged into one indiscriminate, tasteless mass on his tongue. A glutton did not have the senses of a gourmet. They did not appreciate nor discriminate against food. All they did was try to fill this void beyond their stomach capacity. Gorge until their mouths were too tired to chew. Too many vampires fell such a fate and too few were able to rise above it. Silver was afraid of following that path. Malleus would only enable him.

Or Silver is a newly turned vampire that doesn't feed himself properly. Malleus will change that.
