“Puppy!” Came Jade's happy cry as Chiron licked her face. Both of Hayden's twins lay giggling on the floor of the Ottawa locker room, a squirming puppy bouncing between them.
“Can we get a puppy, Uncle Ilya?” Ruby's voice rose even louder as she spoke, eyes pleading towards Ilya.
Shane heard the door slam open behind him. Hayden Pike, his best friend and beloved father, staggered to his side. Out of the corner of his eye, Shane could see him taking in the mess in front of them.

Summary
Shane had started learning Russian for the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics. He grew up learning English and Japanese, and he soon learned French. It was only practical due to Ottawa’s proximity to Québec. He was already trilingual, and it had seemed only logical that if he was going to visit Russia, he should be able to at least say hello, goodbye, and ask where to find the restroom.
And if it meant he could understand what Ilya was saying when they were having sex? All the better. He always meant to tell him. It's just... there was never a good time.
