There had been a rich scent coming from within Sumeru’s jungle.
Perhaps if Xiao had known about the lusts of Sumeru’s monsters, he would've realized the scent was pheromones, and not been dragged underground by a beast searching for a mate.
Perhaps he would not have woken up in a cave, slowly coming off the effects of the pheromones while his clothes were gradually being torn off his body by vines.
