Summary
In the middle of a battle with the Kingdom of Faerghus a stray demonic beast crashes into the middle of the fight between the Aegir Astral Knights and knights of Faerghus. Hubert wasn't able to see if Ferdinand was killed in the initial attack, before he could attempt to help the situation, the beast runs off with all of the warriors giving chase. He assumes the worst as days have gone by with no word, yet the other party hasn't been looking at things so dower.

“How absolutely pathetic,” Hubert spat bitterly. His glistening lashes blinked furiously, desperately trying stave off a fresh wave of tears, mouth curled back into an angry snarl, “I cannot even manage my own grooming without breaking down into a weeping mess!”
“Hubert, you survived an ordeal that would have broken most people several times over,” Ferdinand stated in a firm but gentle tone. He pulled back from Hubert just enough to see his face, gently caressing the other man’s cheek, “Please, do not be so hard on yourself.”
In the aftermath of a horrific ordeal, Ferdinand offers to help Hubert with a seemingly simple task.

The Battle of Garreg Mach took Cethleann's father, but Byleth saw her spared. In the aftermath of Emperor Edelgard's victory, the last Nabatean finds a secluded clearing near the coast and has a good hard cry.
