Summary
I think Lorcan and Elide deserve their own version, so I wrote them one. This sets out to fill in the blanks in KoA after she saves him from the battlefield, as we were severely deprived of all those moments in between which WE KNOW they spent together. Mainly focusing on the nights spent together. Lorcan POV.

“Do you think you can sleep?” he asked her, trying to divert her thoughts. She looked so tired.
She nodded, and his heart exploded when she curled together in a tight ball next to him, scooted closer to his side and nuzzled her cheek against his shoulder. Her soft, small hand curled around his arm and she looked as if content to go to sleep right there, right that moment.Lorcan couldn’t speak, couldn’t think, could barely breathe. Could just lay there, stare down at her, and let her move into him like an iron thread wrapping around his spine. Just by existing, she had slipped behind all of his defenses and moved into his soul. She had stolen his heart for her own and he knew it was futile to ever get it back. And he knew he was completely, utterly at her mercy.

A KoA chapter 41 rewrite, because I felt the Rowaelin love scene was too rushed. So here's a fic rewrite that has Aelin address her trauma.

“I know. . .I don’t want to push, but please don’t pretend.” He steps forward, grabbing her hand. It’s so small in his, and smooth. “Fireheart, I know you. I know you like I know my own heart. You are my heart. I know you’re not fine. I haven’t been fine since the moment we were separated. If you think talking might. . .ease your heartache, maybe. . .”
Maybe it was the silver that lined his eyes, his vulnerability breaking her resolve, and her heart, that barreled her forward. She could do this, for him who had done so much, already walked a dark path with her. For the male who had seen the worst of her and never balked from it, she could try harder. She could explain. She owed it to him, her friend, her lover, her mate, her heart. Even if talking terrified her. . .she swallowed. She could do this.
