Set early in season 1, when they don’t know each other yet, in an alternate universe where Scully walks in on Mulder behaving deviantly from the jump, then investigates why he’s into repeatedly touching the stove.
Or, from Mulder’s POV: Mulder only does HEALTHY sub relationships now, ok (in theory, bc he’s never had one). Then baby dom!Scully shows up in his wretched monastic basement like Moses in the basket, god’s own chosen dom. The prophesies have spoken of her. And the worst/best part is: Scully thinks she’s normal. She doesn’t really know yet. So Mulder just kind of waits around.
