Summary
Peter Kennedy has childhood trauma and clearly unsolved issues, but he's willing to set them aside so he can enjoy a movie. Sort of.
Here, Mic and Dip are in their 'talking' phase, think situationship but also way more dubious. He is a simp and she has no time to think about it - either way, he walks on eggshells every time because he doesn't want to lose what he has, meanwhile Comic couldn't care less about the way he holds himself up.
I promise Diplomat isn't always that sensitive, I just always write the moments when he is. I refuse to stop doing it.

Summary
Some major spoilers up ahead, all the way for the mercenary ending of the final boss battle. Just saying. Now that only a few set people are here, good. Just want to say, for those that don't know, Peter Kennedy and Evelyn London are the canon names for Diplomat and Comic respectively.
As you already (hopefully) know, Diplomat and Comic survive the final destruction of Cascadia, and a minor few details suggest that they will take a long break from flying until the storm brews over, say, lie low for a little while, 'disappear' in Diplomat's words. They don't even care about the money anymore, the two just want to get out of the mess this contract has pulled them into. Understandable. But that is where the views split. Most think that the two went their separate ways and moved away to stay in an inn at the end of the world to drink and forget off their blood money, while in actuality, the two left to Oceania, to live on a miniature island created by an explosion for god knows how long. And maybe it *is* better that they kept their extended friendship private, or else Kaiser, let alone Galaxy, would never let them live it down.
