[Takes place post season 2 episode 8!]
The ninth challenge has ended. One immunity idol gained. One more contestant soon to be gone. And despite everything, MK and Julia’s alliance looks like it's still as strong as ever. Nothing can stop them.
Except… MK somehow hears her name get called for elimination. And there's only one person to blame. The only person she's ever trusted on this island.
(But maybe that's MK's own fault.)

Summary
The trip to and through the church is silent. There is a somber air to the graveyard at this hour, even more so than you would usually get from a graveyard. A new flower has already been placed at Mari’s headstone, clean and maintained as ever. Kim lets Aubrey pull away from her to kneel in front of the grave, hanging back a bit to give her some privacy as she ducks her head and murmurs to the stone. Aubrey wouldn’t have asked her to come if she didn’t genuinely want her there, but some things should still be said in private, Kim figures.
They sit together when Aubrey is done, knee to knee, staring at the grass. It’s hard to reconcile the image of the grave with the vibrant girl buried underneath it. Kim hadn’t known Mari especially well, but she was always friendly and kind. When Kim threw tantrums and raised her voice, Mari had always received her with a laugh and smile, maybe a friendly piece of advice.
Kim would never have imagined Mari dying the way she did, but that’s just how it is with people, she supposes.
