Summary
Most nights, Yelena and Bob shared a bed.
It was an innocent thing, the way they curled into the shape of each other; her breath on his neck, his hand on her stomach, a tangle of limbs that made it hard to know where the void started and the light ended; made it hard to know which was which.

Bob shakes his head. “I don’t think I’m supposed to be strong.”
“Then it is good thing you have friends who are,” Alexei says warmly. “They’ll protect you. We will. зуб даю."
He stares at Bob so intently he fears he might frighten the man, but Bob doesn’t shy away from his gaze. Instead, he looks right on back, like he was hanging on every word.
“Besides,” Alexei goes on, “there are important things beside strength. You are kind, and sensitive, and only one in whole place who knows how to clean dishes.”
Bob laughs wetly, and that was really all Alexei wanted.
