Yaz can feel the heat on her cheeks. She turns from Bill and starts stirring the pasta again.
“Oh my god,” Bill says. “Is she big?”

Summary
“Having a lower center of gravity helps me hit harder. I’m very tough, you know.” Vi holds up an arm and flexes her bicep, the movement completely obscured by her heavy hockey gear.
“I suppose you would have to be to play a sport where you regularly get hit on the head.” Caitlyn’s tone is completely dry, and she doesn’t even make eye contact.
It’s not funny at all, but Vi still finds herself laughing when she realizes this is Caitlyn’s idea of a joke. “I never said it was beautiful or graceful. I’m glad that’s not part of this competition we’re doing,” she motions towards the rink behind her, “because you would win by a landslide. Caitlyn Kiramman, the undefeated world champion of being beautiful and graceful.”

Vi is a solo music artist who is having a hard time getting traction. Caitlyn’s successful band is on the verge of breaking out of their local music scene. When Caitlyn’s band needs a new guitarist and Vi auditions, they both get more than they bargained for.
