He was still standing there, swaying, the mystery boy— Frank, his friends had said—as if he hadn’t even noticed that his group abandoned him. Was Gerard supposed to say something? He was staring at his own art, after all. And the other boy actually liked it. Does he start a conversation? Swoop in, make a joke about those other assholes, start a conversation of his own with—

He tried to curl in tighter, bringing his leg that didn’t have a sketchbook balanced on it up to his chest and resting his chin on it. The boy could wander on and they could both keep this little spark of artistic intimacy to themselves. No need to disturb something that could stay safe and warm in his memories.
The other boy, though, didn’t get the memo.
His slightly off-balance footsteps sounded like thunder in the now-quiet building.

“You know, your birthday is a very spiritual time Frank.” Ray said, sounding a little sagely while looking over the top of his reading glasses at him. He often did this when he knew he was right about something. “Don’t you want to know what the cards have to say about the year ahead of you?”
“No.” Frank replied. “I think you pretty much covered it all, don’t you?”
“You would say that.” Ray shook his head. He was holding his phone up with one of his many astrology apps open to where he had Frank’s natal chart saved. “It’s all here in your chart.”

It’s 2011 and Frank Iero’s life is pretty average until the night where he starts getting dreams about a strange, apocalyptic California where there’s rayguns, grey corporations and terrorists who use art and colour as a weapon. Interesting and fun at first, but the more he dreams about this world, the more he starts to wonder if it really is a dream... and the deeper he gets into this futuristic world, the more it seems to affect his life in the present day.
And just how exactly does everything all seem to link in with that douchebag black-haired artist who sits in Starbucks every day?
(Set in the Danger Days world but not necessarily following the canon established by the album and music video's.)
