Summary
Izuku peeks over Kacchan’s arm from where he’s sitting next to him and sees that she’s referring to one of those generic questions nearly every pro-hero gets about what they look for in a romantic partner. He follows Kacchan’s presence in the media too closely not to know this is something Kacchan has never actually answered before - most reporters have the common sense not to ask it in the first place, and those that actually do have never gotten anything besides some variation of ‘none of your business’ as a response. So he’s nothing short of surprised when Kacchan merely scowls and clicks his pen twice, before putting the tip to the paper and starting to write down an answer.

Izuku still hasn't figured out how he managed it, but somehow Mr. Aizawa convinced (or coerced or maybe blackmailed) Kacchan into guest-teaching Thursday afternoon's 1A heroics class, which is, as far as Izuku knows, the first time in six years that Kacchan's stepped foot onto UA's campus, so frankly, the world could be ending tomorrow and Izuku would still make time between kissing his mom goodbye and crying over the fact that he'd never get to read the sequel to his current favorite novel, A Game of Shadows, (which is coming out in twenty-two days!) in order to sneak into the viewing booth of Training Ground Beta.

It's been six years since Izuku graduated from UA, and in that span of time, he's only seen Kacchan a handful of times. When Kacchan visits UA to guest-teach a heroics class, he returns to Izuku's life in typical Kacchan fashion: like a supernova that shakes Izuku's sure footing.

When they're in-costume and working, they're completely in-sync. He and Izuku become extensions of each other. There's a deep, primal intimacy in that—in knowing someone so well that their movements become yours, that you're sharing one body, one mind, one heartbeat.
But because they're not constantly sucking face or doing obnoxious lovey-dovey shit like some other hero partner couples, the gossip rags always spin his and Izuku's relationship as some sort of tragic drama. Dynamight and Deku are breaking up, have broken up, are dating other people but still working together to keep up appearances.
Whatever.
The point is, when they're Dynamight and Deku they're hero partners first and foremost.
Which makes Katsuki's slip-up all the more fucking mortifying.
