"What's the catch?" Aventurine asks from where she's now lying on the bed, rather grumpily.
Sugilite pouts playfully- before chuckling. "Can't I just take care of my darling?"
"You're not this enthusiastic about it." Aventurine retorts, fighting a grin.
Aventurine is exhausted. Sugilite offers to take care of her.

Sugilite’s laughter rings out- light, almost merry in its boyishness but Aventurine knows better. Sugilite is a wolf in sheep’s clothing, and he's sooner to feast on your carcass before inviting you to a banquet of his own.

It would have been easier if Kiera had paid heed to the rumours and the clear evidence- that Daeron Targaryen bore not even a sliver of the greatness of his namesakes, was nothing more than a mad, raving drunken fool who would be quicker to ride a whore than a horse.

It helps- that the little bird is so eager to help relieve their stress, even with their history. Because Aeons know, Sugilite and Aventurine do nothing but devour and entwine themselves with each other.
Having Sunday helps. Having someone they can both relish, someone that brings out the softer edges of their hearts, hearts forced into a forge of amber to be hardened. It's why they cherish him so much.
Not that devouring each other wasn't just as pleasurable, of course.

Aventurine wanted to haunt Sugilite.
That's why there's a little thrill running up his spine, causing his skin to tingle with arousal, when Sugilite runs those wonderful, terrible hands up his thighs, as if taking him in amazement and Aventurine smiles.
"See something you like?" Aventurine demurs, voice low.
He doesn't make a move to resist the gasp that is pulled out of him when those wonderful, terrible hands grasp and squeeze at his thighs, nor the little laugh that follows, as Sugilite leans in close.
"Plenty."
It isn't so often that Sugilite is reduced to one-word answers after all. Aventurine takes that victory.

Topaz glares at him- heatedly, so clearly, visibly irritated, much to Sugilite's fascination. "I could take that hit and I did. She couldn't. It's just calculated risk assessment."
Sugilite's answering scoff shows full well that he doesn't believe her.
Or- Topaz's only company in the infirmary after a mission gone wrong in the Sedounirama Star Cluster is Sugilite. It's not exactly the most relaxing, but they make do.

Aventurine hadn't particularly met Sugilite before- and he was sure the man had his own reasons for voting against Aventurine at the trial for whatever reason. It wasn't in Aventurine's nature to hold a grudge, after all, even Sunday was a worthy adversary no matter how annoying that grey-haired, feather-brained little birdie had been. (Ignoring the fact Sunday was in fact, an inch or so taller than Aventurine, of course.)
And then they unwittingly sit next to each other at the most boring meeting Aventurine's had the displeasure of attending yet. And then by some force of fate, they talk.
