He kissed me. He kissed me on the balcony in the searing moonlight, beneath the dappled sky. His lips were warm and soft and slotted in the grooves of mine like my final piece. I was whole, for that blissful moment, and the emotion smoldering in my bones was so powerful I could not move. My heart drummed in my ears. My cheeks were hot and my breath caught. His thumb stroked along my cheekbone, soft, intimate; my skin burned where he touched me, and it spread through me in waves. It was so much, it was too much. I was pleasantly overwhelmed and didn't want it to end.
