    Bookmarker's Notes

She risks a glance at May, whose eyes are soft and shining, impossibly in love.

“You’re so beautiful,” Ai-oon breathes, like it’s just occurred to her, like it’s always occurring to her. “And now I can’t remember any of what I rehearsed.”

May laughs, airy and light, and leans in, pressing a kiss to Ai-oon’s lips, gentle but lingering. When she pulls back, Ai-oon follows, stealing one more because she can.
