Then the years passed, Kara learned how to hide her differences, become more human, and that focus was lost.
At least until Snapper reassigned her to cover the science and technology beat at The Tribune.

Summary
Firefighter Kara Danvers believes in love a little too much. She falls fast with terrible people, but always ends up alone, which has made it a little surly, solitary and a confirmed bachelorette. When a stray tabby cat named Streaky shows up at her door, Kara takes him in and slowly starts to see that a little companionship might not be so bad after all.
Kara’s commitment to give the search for love a rest, is further challenged when she meets Lena, an animal lover and veterinary student who teaches Kara how to care for her new feline roommate. Chemistry immediately develops between the two, but Lena is very adamant about not believing in love, and has decided to not even start dating until she finishes school.
Will they find a way together despite themselves?
