Aka a what-if situation in which NeveRook hook up days before the ritual and neither of them quite remember in light of the world imploding. Catching feelings in the middle of this mess really makes saving the world so much more complicated.

Neve found herself smiling. Flirting with the client was a terrible idea. An ocean of trouble. Nothing good came of flirting with a client and this was still a job. Hell of a job. They’d almost died together a handful of times. He’d put her back together after she’d taken a piece of falling ancient elven statue to the head. It was still a job. He smiled like ass deep in trouble was his favourite place to be but this was still a job.
She wasn’t quite winning that argument with herself.
