Summary
After logging out of Reddit for the night, Edie Diaz switched over to the tab labeled ‘Inbox (1)’ and was faced with a name she didn’t recognise.
Evan Buckley | Subject: Hey :)
Her grandchild had warned her countless times about internet safety and how older people are more susceptible to being scammed. She opened it anyway.
___________________________One small typo leads to Edie Diaz, a bored old woman living in Minnesota, accidentally receiving a series of increasingly dramatic emails from an LA firefighter named Evan Buckley.

Summary
He keeps reminding himself it’s not going to go anywhere, but if it’s a crime to appreciate his ex-girlfriend’s girlfriend’s gorgeous colleague’s face while he’s feeling extremely single before the holidays, then lock him up, your honour, and throw away the key.
His brain might be telling him it’s all completely casual – he’s just being friendly with the 118 until Lucy announces the engagement’s off (and, hey, maybe he’ll get to keep a few of them in the break-up). But his brain doesn’t matter as far as his heart is concerned; when Eddie Diaz finally walks through the door of Ye Olde Bar just a little after 7, it almost beats out of his chest.
__or, Buck finds himself fighting for his life when his ex-girlfriend-turned-best-friend Taylor asks him to pretend to be her girlfriend Lucy's fiancé while she's in the hospital after a freak bar accident, and the entire 118 show up too. It's all going (mostly) well until he accidentally falls in love with Lucy's colleague, a hot single dad firefighter named Eddie Diaz.
__or, a Buddie retelling of the 1995 rom-com While You Were Sleeping, but Buck is Sandra Bullock, Eddie is Bill Pullman, and the 118 are the coma guy's family.

Summary
“Do you love Buck?” Chris asks as dad turns to take the plates to the sink.
He stumbles a step, then keeps going. “Of course I do,” he answers lightly. And Chris knows he’s misunderstood the question entirely.
Chris shakes his head. “No, I mean, do you love Buck?”
Dad freezes. He very carefully sets the plates in the sink and turns around to face him, crossing his arms. “What do you mean?”
Chris blinks. “It’s okay if you do.”
Dads jaw clenches, and his gaze darts away. “Chris—“
“I think he loves you, too.”
His gaze snaps back around. “What?”
Chris shrugs, pushing his chair back. “Something to think about.” And then he grabs his crutches and stands from the table, smiling brightly at dad, before turning and heading for his room.
