The waves crashed against the coastline, keeping their monotonous rhythm against the shrill sound of seagulls in the distance. Nathan stood against the current, waist deep in a blackness that seemed to swallow his legs beneath him. The water was cold to the touch, but it was more comforting than what he had to come back home to.
