Instead of doing his damn job for once, Wade decides to stick it to the law and runs away with Logan. A few months after they eloped (ignore anything Logan says that's absolutely what happened), Wade gets intel on the man Logan had been hunting all these years: Pinkerton Agent Andrew Milton, who has cropped up near New Hanover, chasing after in the infamous Van der Linde gang.
What could possibly go wrong?

Summary
Logan was something of an expert in history, seeing as he’d lived through more of it than most people, and if there was one thing he’d learnt, it was that history had a nasty habit of repeating itself.
OR: An anti-mutant group gets wind of Logan’s re-appearance and are less than pleased about it. In an effort to drive him out (seeing as the usual option of assault and murder is off the table) they orchestrate a series of events that slowly turn the world Logan was hoping to use as a second chance against him in a way that is achingly familiar.

OR Logan has been on a steady mental decline even before the shit-show that made his world hate him. Despite Chuck’s best efforts, he’s never really taken the time to heal - or to even think - about those fuzzy, just-recently-remembered days that made him the man - the weapon he was. And then he, and all the rest of the X-Men died. Not a great environment for healing. Being flung into the orbit of a man like Wade, who can understand, sends that particular status quo spinning out of control. Logan is decidedly not a fan of this. Wade doesn’t really care and ploughs on anyway.

Summary
Logan is finding it difficult to adjust to the universe he's been flung head first into. His past is conflicting with his desire to just be fucking content for once and its causing some…issues. Wade's presence does not make this easier.

Logan manages to keep a lid on things until a second get-together with Wade's ragtag family (which somehow included him??) throws him arse over tit emotionally, and everything ends up bubbling up to the surface. Wade's presence somehow makes this easier.
